This program was carried out in the Sutorejo Indah Housing area, Sutorejo Hamlet Village, Surabaya, involving 21 participants. The method of implementing the program includes theoretical socialization, distribution of guide brochures, and practical demonstrations of making MOL using portable plastic gallon reactors. The evaluation of the success of the program was measured through a quasi-experimental design using a validated questionnaire instrument of 20 multiple-choice questions (pre-test and post-test), which included an understanding of the concept of organic waste and the procedure for making MOL. The data was statistically analyzed through a paired sample t-test with the help of Minitab software. The results of the analysis showed a significant increase in understanding in the participants, which was marked by an average score that increased from 77.38 in the pre-test to 84.52 in the post-test (an increase of 7.14 points) with a p-value of 0.002 (p < 0.05). In addition, the 20-day fermentation process of MOL proved to be successful, characterized by a clear physical change in the color of the liquid that became a dark cloudy brown and the emergence of a distinctive aroma of fermentation that was sour and fresh. https://journal.faibillfath.ac.id/index.php/taawun/article/view/1350

Lesson planning in Islamic higher education remains largely conventional and has not systematically integrated deep learning, multicultural Islamic education, and a love-based curriculum. This community service program aimed to strengthen students’ competence in designing lesson plans that integrate these three concepts. The program was conducted on 19–21 December 2025 at STAI Nahdlatul Ulama Malang, involving 35 sixth-semester prospective teachers, and employed a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach through material socialization, a hands-on workshop, focus group discussions, and mentoring in developing learning tools. Evaluation used a 20-item pre-test and post-test, rubric-based assessment of lesson-plan products, and participatory observation and reflection. A Wilcoxon signed-rank test showed a significant improvement in conceptual understanding, from a mean of 70.3 (pre-test) to 87.7 (post-test) (Z = 5.31; p < 0.001; r = 0.90), with all participants (100%) reaching a score of ≥ 75. Students’ lesson-planning ability fell into the good category (mean = 84). Practically, the program offers a replicable mentoring model for strengthening pedagogical competence; theoretically, it enriches the integration of deep learning and love-based values within a multicultural Islamic education framework.
Qoidul KhoirBudiRaudatul HasanahMuhammad Khaironi Devanto

This community service program aimed to empower second-trimester pregnant women to independently manage edema through complementary therapy-based education using Kaempferia galanga (kencur) boiled water foot soak and foot massage. The community partner faced limited knowledge and practical skills regarding safe complementary therapies for managing pregnancy-related edema. Therefore, health education, interactive discussions, demonstrations, guided practice, and evaluations using pre-test, post-test, and skills observation were implemented to enhance participants' knowledge and self-care capacity. The program was conducted at Eliza Bestari Independent Midwifery Practice in 2026 and involved 20 second-trimester pregnant women selected through convenience sampling. The results showed a substantial increase in participants' knowledge, with the proportion of women categorized as having good knowledge increasing from 20.0% before the intervention to 80.0% afterward. Participants also demonstrated considerable improvement in practical skills, with 95.0% correctly preparing the Kaempferia galanga boiled water, 100.0% performing the warm foot soak according to the recommended procedure, and 90.0% correctly applying the foot massage technique. The program enhanced participants' capacity and confidence to independently apply complementary therapies and has the potential to support community-based antenatal care through continuous assistance from midwives.
Devina Humaira PasaribuYuni Hanas NurmasitohHayatur Ridha SariAffan Solihin
